Dear Community Leader,  The Bartholomew County 4-H Fair will be held July 5 through July 13, 2013.  It is time for us to ask for your assistance in finding a Queen to represent the youth of our county.  We hope your organization will be interested in sponsoring a girl for Queen this year.  It is an excellent experience for any young lady.  We are asking for a $25 entry fee from each contestant to help offset the costs of putting on our pageant.

NEW for the 2013 Indiana State Fair Queen contest participation requires a contestant to be at least 18 years of age as of June 1, 2014.  Each contestant cannot have had her 21st birthday as of Aug. 16, 2013 the first day of the 2013 Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant. For the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Queen Contest ONLY each contestant must be at least 16 years of age and cannot have had her 21st birthday as of Aug. 16, 2013.  Please note this is only for the local contest. If you are not at least 18 years of age as of June 1, 2014 you will not be able to participate in the Indiana State Fair Queen contest.

She must never have been married, a resident of Bartholomew County, and cannot be a professional model. Also, previous winners are not eligible  .The contestant does not have to be a 4-H member, but should be a member of at least one worthy organization in her community.  The contestant should be prepared to serve as Queen the entire week of the local fair, July 5 – 14, 2013.  She must also be prepared to spend August 16-19, 2013 at the competition ofthe State Fair Queen Pageant.  If she wins the State Fair Pageant she will be crowned Miss Indiana State Fair 2013, and must be prepared to be the official hostess of the 2014 Indiana State Fair.

Queen Pageant judging this year will be based on appearance and personality.  Division I will be a four (4) minute interview.  Division II theme wear competition (Survivor 4-H Fair), and Division III will be professional wear competition and Division IV evening gown. Props are allowed for Division II.  The Division I interview will be held June 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Columbus North Auditorium.  Division II-IV will also be held June 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Columbus North Auditorium.  The evening divisions are open to the public. Immediately following the contest, Miss Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Queen will be crowned.

We hope that you will give some girl a chance to be Queen.
