Official Rules and Regulations:

Each contestant must be at least 16 years of age and cannot have had her 21st birthday as of August 20, the first day of the 2010 Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant.

The Fair Queen must be a resident of Bartholomew County.

A Mother/Daughter meeting will be held in June, time and date will be announced.

The contestants will be judged on the basis of beauty, poise and personality in County and State Fair competition. This judging is divided into four divisions:
Division I - Maximum 4 minute interview—40 points total: Ability to converse—15 points; Poise—10 points; and Personality—15 points. Attire: Business suit or dress, may be skirt or pants.
Division II—Theme Wear—15 points total: A representation of yourself, personality, goal and/or interest (Reaching for the Stars). Props are allowed to accent your outfit.
Division III—Professional Wear—20 points total: Posture and poise—10 points; Overall impression—10 points. Attire: Suit, dress, or pant suit. Suit does not have to be of same fabric—separates will be allowed. Attire worn by contestant in interview will also be worn/judged in professional wear category. Props are not allowed.
Division IV—Evening Gown—25 points total: Stage presence—10 points; Overall impressions—15 points. Attire: The evening gown may be any length for the County Pageant. Gowns with the skirt split above the knee (more than 2” above the kneecap) and/or a low-cut bodice will be discounted by the judges. A long evening gown is required for the State Fair Pageant.
5. Winners to be selected by a Board of Judges and the decision of the Board will be final.
6. The Queen and her court will reign over the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair July 9-17, 2010.
7. No professional model is eligible for the State Fair Pageant (A professional model is one who earns her livelihood by modeling.) A contestant who has been paid on occasion for modeling is not considered a professional model. A contestant who works for a School Fashion Board is not considered a professional model.
8. Previous contestants for Miss Indiana State Fair are not eligible.
9. Each contestant must be an active member of at least one worthwhile organization in her community, such as church groups, Girl Scouts, 4-H, etc. Eligibility is not limited to 4-H.
10. The winning contestant will be entered as Miss Bartholomew County 4-H Fair in the Indiana State Fair and will be required to register at the Official Hotel by Friday, August 20, 2010 and remain through the final event on Sunday afternoon, August 22, 2010.
11. The winner of the State Pageant will be crowned “MISS INDIANA STATE FAIR OF 2010” and must be prepared to reign at the 2011 State Fair as the Official Hostess.
